In February 2023 we secured a Food Poverty grant from Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. This money means our Independent Food Bank can continue supporting families in need of food parcels across Neath Port Talbot.

Many families are struggling through the cost-of-living crisis, so this funding will stop families in Neath port Talbot going hungry. We have been running our food bank for the last three years and know the impact that food poverty can have on people’s lives. We therefore provide advice and information alongside the food parcels to support the families struggling financially, and where necessary will signpost families to other organisations where further support is needed.

Chloe – Food Bank Worker
‘Since the cost-of-living crisis has hit, we have had more requests for food parcels than ever before. We are always extremely grateful for the support that we receive from funding, as without this support we would not be able to make as many food parcels and help as many individuals and families who are struggling.’

Building Blocks Family Centre’s ethos is to provide a dedicated family support service to families, children and young people living in poverty or who are a disadvantage in the Neath and Port Talbot area, so we are very thankful that NPTCBC can help us in meeting our ethos, mission and vision.
